Jam games. They have a certain reputation for being wild and wacky. Be it the vision of the developer or the fault of the time limit, you're always going to be in for something special. Why not go all the way and embrace it?

In this jam, there is absolutely no reason to hold back! Is your idea good? Is it a complete and total trainwreck? As long as it gets a laugh, who cares!

Rules

• Keep it SFW - This jam is not accepting adult content.
• Don't use AI - Generative AI of any kind is not allowed. We're only looking for the output from that meatball between your ears. But, beyond that...
• Use whatever tools or engine you want - If you want to upload a NES ROM or Arduino sketch, go right ahead! Just keep in mind that a working web build is encouraged if you want the most players.
• Games must be made within the jam period - It's unfair to your fellow jammers if you give yourself an advantage by working ahead!

Voting Criteria

• Absurdism - This jam is all about the absurd. The irrational. The inexplicable. Make it weird!
• Comedy - Exploration of the incomprehensible is at its best when it's done with a laugh.
• Originality - Novel ideas can enhance weirdness. Give us all something we haven't seen before!
• Enjoyment - Games should be fun, so make something the other jammers will enjoy playing!

Extras

• The (optional) extra modifier for this jam is... "Try a new style!"
  Mix it up a little and try making your art, assets, or entire game in a way you haven't before. Be it a new art style, a new medium, or even a new engine!
• CE-Studio supports open-source! It isn't required or part of the score, but we'd love if you made your game open-source too!

The Grand Prize

The winner of the jam will have the opportunity to create a character for one of our upcoming games! It's still (mostly) private right now, so further details will be directly shared with the winner.

Community

As always, jams are a great opportunity for learning and collaboration. You can use the jam forum or the CE-Studio Stoat server to form a team with or get help from your fellow jammers. Additionally, you can use the server to request a late submission if you overran the deadline!
