The goal is to produce a game of any size revolving around an unsolved mystery, an unanswered question, a secret, a plot twist! Have the player piece it all together through their deductions and investigations. Theory craft away. Make a puzzle game with no plot, it's up to you!
No matter if you're a beginner or a seasoned game dev, this jam is for fun and to practice your skills. It is ranked, but there are no prizes. Participants will rate each other.
It will run from June 21 until July 31. You have six whole weeks!
Will be revealed at the start of the jam.
Fun Factor: How much fun was it to play. Would you play a full version? Would you play again? Would you recommend it to a friend?
Mystery: How well crafted was the mystery. How satisfying it was to solve it.
Mechanics: How innovative or how well implemented are the mechanics of the game. Must be a feature, not a bug.
Theme presence: How relevant was the theme throughout the game.
You can participate solo or as a team. You may start brainstorming for concepts, mechanics and such.
Your project must be new and made especifically for this jam. It can be any genre and it can be made in any engine. It must be able to be run on browser or downloadable for Windows. And it must be free.
Use your own assets. You can use premade assets from previous projects, free assets (which must be credited) or assets you own the right to. AI generated assets are not allowed.
The player should be able to beat your game in 15 minutes or less. Try to avoid scope creep.
You'll have to agree to have your game be played on Twitch, Youtube, etc. I will play all the submissions on my own channel. I still don't know when exactly. I'll try my best to accomodate so you can be present when I play your submission on stream at https://www.twitch.tv/ophidianren
Must not contain NSFW or hateful/discriminatory content of any kind. (It will be played on stream after all).
Let me know if you have any questions.
Have Fun!
