ONE ROOM, MANY WORLDS

Welcome to One Room, Many Worlds.

This is a game jam about one simple idea:

One room.
Many worlds.
Endless possibilities.

Create a small game where the player starts in one room, but this room changes into different places, dreams, memories, nightmares, or strange realities.

Your game does not need to be huge. A small playable prototype is enough.

Make one room interesting. Make it change. Make the player remember it.

THEME

One Room, Many Worlds

Your game must be based on one main room or one small location.

It can be a bedroom, basement, elevator, office, classroom, kitchen, prison cell, bunker, spaceship room, empty white room, or any small closed place.

But the room should not stay normal.

It can transform into a forest, ocean, desert, city, space, nightmare, dream, memory, laboratory, ruins, or another dimension.

The more creative the transformation, the better.

IDEAS

Example ideas:

  • A bedroom changes every time the player sleeps.
  • An elevator opens to a different world on every floor.
  • A classroom turns into old memories.
  • A bunker slowly becomes an alien planet.
  • A kitchen creates portals through food.
  • A prison cell changes depending on player choices.
  • A small apartment becomes a forest.
  • A normal room slowly breaks reality.

You can make horror, puzzle, comedy, story, platformer, simulator, walking simulator, visual novel, or experimental game.

JAM TIME

You have 3 days to create your game.

Day 1 — Idea

Think about your room, main mechanic, and how the room changes.

Day 2 — Make

Create the playable version of your game.

Day 3 — Polish

Add sound, atmosphere, menu, ending, small details, and upload your game.

The game does not need to be big.

A small finished prototype is better than a huge unfinished project.

TIPS

You do not need to make a huge game. Focus on one strong idea.

Good ideas for this jam:

  • One room with different versions.
  • One door that opens to different places.
  • One object that changes reality.
  • One loop that becomes stranger each time.
  • One small story told through room changes.
  • One puzzle where the room transforms.
  • One horror scene where the room slowly breaks.

Simple is good. Atmosphere is important.
