Theme: Once again, B's mascot Scrappy The Rally Possum is perfect ‘game jam’ fodder. This time, we have a theme - 'Scrappy Saves The Animals'. The game has to be themed around Scrappy 'saving animals' in some way. It's inspired by both Scrappy 'saving' some old elephant mascots from another team, and also supporting a rescue for baby opossums - and even helping foster cats find a home at the B's ballpark!
What's this about? The Oakland Ballers are an independent minor league baseball team based in Northern California, where we at video game discovery newsletter GameDiscoverCo also live. We had so much fun with our successful Scrappy game jam last year that we're back for more.
Prizes? 1st place - $500 USD and a lifetime subscription to the GameDiscoverCo Plus newsletter & data service. 2nd-5th place: Lifetime subscriptions to GameDiscoverCo Plus. (Top games may also be shown on the big screen at a Ballers game & promoted to fans at the B's 'Gamer Night' game on July 24th.)
Rules?
- You can have a downloadable version too, but all submissions must be playable in browser. (Reminder: even engines like Unity allow you to do this fairly easily!)
- Use only assets you own/have made (or the Scrappy assets we provide below!)
- Entries will be voted on by the GameDiscoverCo staff.
- The game has to be themed around Scrappy 'saving animals' in some way, but can be named anything you want and be in any genre you like!
- Other 'normal' game jam rules apply: no pre-made games, give proper credits in-game, don't use other people's assets or work without permission. (And no AI assets, please.)
Questions?
Feel free to hit us up at contact@gamediscover.co if you have any questions about this jam.

Good luck, everyone, and Go Ballers!
